Hello, my name is Kelly Sherwood. Fitness has always been a big part of my life. I started running and lifting weights at an early age to get better at sports. I attended SUNY Cortland and received a Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Physical Education, a minor in Economics and Management, and a Concentration in Sports Management and Coaching. I have twenty years of experience in the fitness field, managing Kelly North Fitness for ten years and then owning it for ten years.
I have taught several different classes over the years, but my absolute favorite is Kickboxing. I trained with a professional boxer to learn how to box and then developed the program at Kelly Lyn about fifteen years ago. I am a Personal Trainer and designed the TNC (TRX, Nutrition and Cardio) Program.
Since our merge with Champions Fitness Center, I have been promoted to Manager. I’m also in charge of the Group Fitness Program. Currently, I teach Total Body Workout & Bag Mondays at 4:30 pm, Total Sculpt Tuesdays at 4:30 pm, Spin Wednesdays at 9 am, 360 Fit Thursdays at 8:30 am, Total Sculpt Fridays at 8:45 am, and Kickboxing Fridays at 9:45 am here at Champions Fitness Center.
My favorite part of fitness is how much impact you have on someone’s life! I have helped several members change their lives – whether it has been improving their self-esteem, losing weight, getting through a family tragedy, recovering from having a baby, starting a fitness program, or taking a fitness program to the next level.
Recently, recovering from my own injury has made me understand modifications and appreciate exercise even more. I have worked with members of all ages, from teenagers to senior citizens. I have enjoyed all of the great people I have met over the last twenty years, and I look forward to continuing to help members reach their fitness goals.
