Hello, my name is Allison Woznica! I am a Kripalu Certified, 200 hr Registered Yoga Teacher.
I have been teaching Kripalu Yoga for just over two years, but have been practicing yoga for four. I first started yoga practice with Yoga Therapy; a guided talk and response way of learning what the body is telling you from within. From there I attended weekly classes of a more traditional practice of asana (poses).
Yoga has truly changed my life for the better. For thirteen years I suffered from depression and an eating disorder. While I was experiencing feelings of self doubt and internal turmoil, practicing yoga was a way to get down to the root of the issue within my body.
My weekly classes begin and end with guided meditation and breath work (Pranayama). The asana focus will vary, as participants will stretch and strengthen the whole body in a mindful and compassionate way. My motto for yoga is “No flexibility? No problem. The only flexibility required is your mind.” Meaning that my classes are suitable for all ages and skill level.
Practicing yoga has taught me to be more loving, caring, kind and compassionate; not just to others, but to myself. Currently, I teach Yoga every Monday night at 6:30 pm and Gentle Yoga Sundays at 10:15 am.
